Bubble, bubble, tapioca and trouble...

...but I finally got past The Cold That Wouldn't Die and a few technical difficulties to get my very first podcast episode up and running!

It's all set up on FeedBurner, so theoretically you can click here to add it to iTunes or whatever reader you use. So far I've just tested it with RadioDownloader, since that's what I use, and it worked fine.

I'm giving myself another day or two before starting to track down future guests, but with any luck I've got it more or less down pat now. (She said, promptly jinxing herself. *g*)

Congratulations! All the success in the world to you! :D

Thankyouthankyou! I freely admit it's really just an excuse for me to have long babbly conversations with people who make neat stuff. But hopefully they will be interesting to listen to as well. :-)

Hooray! :)

Yay! I just subscribed through iTunes. Imagine me listening while working in my garden.

Yay! I hope you enjoy it.

Also, thank you for saving me from having to sign up for iTunes to test. :-)

The podcast was fun. I learned about singing (in which I have had: no training), and was amused by the discussion about wearing wigs onstage, and enjoyed the musical interludes (even if they were "Dammit, Skype just dropped out again"), and got nostalgic for the Windycon where we met when you talked about the Clockwork Droid costume, and was geeked when you mentioned Somtow Sucharitkul (whom I met when he was a guest at a local science-fiction convention, and he's So Much Fun).

Hooray! Fun is what I'm aiming for.

Only one of them was "Dammit, Skype just dropped out again." The rest were "Let's show off Stacey's gorgeous voice again," except for the one that was "Anna Russell was a VERY FUNNY LADY and you need to hear this." ;-)

Eek! How could I have forgotten Anna Russell? That was another "YAY!" moment, because I love her with so much love.

When you and Stacy talked about Peter Schickele and Anna Russell, and then you mentioned that you had dance lessons, I wanted to be able to talk back, to ask if you've ever seen the Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo. They're the PDQ Bach of ballet, and absolutely glorious.

Haven't seen the Trocks live in about 20 years, but they are indeed glorious.

I want to talk back to podcasts all the time!

I saw the Trocks ::mumblemumble years ago, at the Ohio Theater in Columbus. I invited a friend to go with me, and burbled all about what the Trocks are about, but somehow she only heard "ballet" and tuned out the "male dancers in drag" part. So when the 6-foot-tall hairy-chested swan princess bounded out on stage, she went "Eep!" or maybe "Glurk!" and sat there goggling and gasping through the first act. Her reaction was almost as much fun as the dancing.

What they did to Balanchine choreography is probably still illegal in Alabama.

And... you inspired me to check Amazon.com/MP3. They have Anna Russell albums! And I have an Amazon gift card!

Bonus: Amazon is giving me MP3 files for a Steeleye Span album and a Mediaeval Babes album, which I bought as Christmas gifts almost 14 years ago.

Yay! There's a LOT of stuff available that way now. And no DRM!
May. 12th, 2013 08:33 pm (UTC)
Downloaded now! Taking it with me to the park. (I deleted most of Madonna and Ella Fitzgerald to make room on my overcrowded MP3 players. Either I need a bigger MP3 player, or more comfort with switching up what's on it, or both! ~grin~)

Wow! I definitely hope you enjoy it then. (It did get a little long...)
May. 12th, 2013 11:34 pm (UTC)
Yes, I enjoyed it, and I look forward to Episode 2. :-)

I usually have more room available on my MP3 player for assorted podcasts, but I recently filled that reservoir with an audiobook on job interviewing. ~wry~

Eminently sensible!
