Red and terrible and red

And done enough to be presentable at Cyphan!

Still aiming for the more elaborate version of the necklace as well as the belt, and planning to braid'n'boil the wig for waves.

The connectors for the bottom row on the choker finally arrived on Friday (with the rest of the held mail from while we were in Michigan, which was supposed to have been delivered Tuesday, but our mail service is... not always the most reliable), about which I was very excited and relieved for the thirty seconds it took to open the package and discover that they'd sent the wrong color. From Hong Kong. *facepalm* Heard back from the seller today, and am in the process of formulating a sensible response to "Yeah, we were out of stock on the antique brass ones, so we sent the silver ones, but if you don't like them we can send you the brass ones when they're back in stock in a few weeks." O.o Seriously, who does that??

But, nobody really noticed, or at least nobody said anything, and it went over very well, so yay new costume!

Very cool!!

Now you just need some black silly string to shoot at people for your strangling spawn. XD

Ooooh! There's been a fair amount of joking on the FB costuming group about shadow gags and how one might achieve them, but none of them have been that potentially workable...

I do have the back burner of the brain simmering on how I might achieve a shadow-offspring-shaped totebag, because building pockets into the sleeves for carrying essential crap around a con is a limited solution. (I swear sometimes what I miss most about SG-1 fandom is BDU pockets...)

The bag thing was inspired by this pic from SDCC.

oh man, that is TRULY wicked!! That would be cool to see, although I don't think I could pull something like that off.

OooOoo...BDU pockets...gosh, I never thought of that...bet those WERE handy at cons.... XD

You look Stunning! My favorite part is the shoes - those vintage low heels!!!

I lucked out big-time -- they're made by Funtasma, that company that does all the shoes in the Halloween stores, but they're discontinued. All they have for their witch or devil shoes anymore are the 3-inch spikes. :-P But there are a few small pockets of stock at online vendors.

**coughs** I can tell the silver ones in the pic, but to be honest, if you hadn't mentioned 'em, I might not have registered 'em. XD

And really, when a bunch of us girls working on the Evenstar KAL got together and ordered beads, when they didn't have *mine* in stock, they didn't just say "oh we were out, so here's these beads in a totally different color instead", they just said, "we're out, we'll send 'em when we get more". That's just...odd, I don't think I've ever actually had that happen to me before. XD

Yeah, see, that's the response that makes SENSE. You don't just randomly substitute an item without checking and hope the buyer doesn't care!

It turned out gorgeous!

By the way, if you're still looking for another pair of red witch shoes, Grandin Road has them now.

And ah, the shoes that taunted me! ;-) They switched over to the 3" spike heel and discontinued the low flared heel I wanted.
