Finally got pictures up on Flickr, such as they are. Very pleased with how Idris turned out, though I think I'm going to pull some of the stuffing from the bustle before the next time I wear it. (Given the time constraints, I decided to buy a ready-made one on Etsy, and it's great, but Idris is a bit more deflated.)
Had a great, low-key time. In the interest of both budget and low-keyness, I decided to skip the photo/autograph thing (though
Mark Sheppard is as entertaining as I've heard, and has no compunction about giving questioners an "are kidding me?" look and a flat, though clearly good-natured, "No." This was employed with no fewer than three people trying to sell him on an apparently quite popular crack-addled crossover notion that his Doctor Who and Supernatural characters are the same person. Or that Crowley somehow replaced Canton at some point? I couldn't quite follow. In any case, the first person to attempt it got the best nonplussed expression and "So, you're saying my dad is Crowley?" :-) Then, when it kept coming up, he just insisted, "No. That doesn't work." And I just sort of kept facepalming. I loves me some crack-addled crossovers, but a con guest Q&A is definitely not the place for them.
I only did a full-blown con membership on Saturday, but went back on Sunday with a dealer's room pass, as it's a helluva lot cheaper and I decided there was nothing going on in the main events room that I couldn't live without. I crashed the stitching circle and part of one of the costuming panels, both in the back programming rooms where nobody bothers checking badges, and otherwise hung out in the lobby or the dealer's room (where one of Brainy's gamers had a table with her art, which I babysat briefly so they could both do the autograph thing), knitting and chatting with whoever happened to be around.
Generally a nice time, and special thanks go to

In your Flickr set, the Littlest Fifth Doctor made me dead from the cute.
I neglected to mention the Littlest Five and the Littlest TARDIS were brother and sister. Cue exploding head.
And I'm with the poster above-- the Littlest Fifth Doctor made me melt all over the place.
At a convention years ago, there was a little Fifth Doctor in a blue stroller -- the kind of stroller with a bit of a roof, and it had a blue light on top.
(I am, by the way, at long last and just yesterday, all caught up to the present in Doctor Who! Yay! A condition lasting only until this year's Christmas special airs, natch, but allowing me to actually know who Idris is. ~grin~)
At least the Christmas special is isolated, so you'll be mostly caught up for a few months. :-)
