Resonance developments!

Moving very quickly the last couple days. All kinds of new content has been released, and the call for audience engagement in the creation of the story world has officially gone out. The URL set aside for that process, wecreateresonance.com, currently points to the main Facebook page, and the FAQ for getting involved may be found by clicking the "Discussions" tab on the left-hand side of that page. (I know a lot of people avoid Facebook for various good reasons, which is a drawback to using it as a platform, but I'm told the plan is still to replace it with a self-contained site when resources permit.)

If you're looking to watch and not necessarily jump in to create, the biggest news is probably that the full eight-minute mini-pilot is now public on YouTube. Directed by Colin Teague, with Aidan Turner, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ruta Gedmintas, and Charles Dance, it's the starting point of the TV series projected to be produced next year.

On YouTube.

There's a lot of info to wrap your head around if you're encountering it for the first time (or even if you're not -- I've been explaining it for months, and still working on the best way to do so), but the Reader's Digest version is that it's an experiment in reversing the usual pattern of expanding a show's universe with online content. They're building the universe first, with input from whoever wants to step up and create content (on a Creative Commons basis), and the final form of the central storyline for the show will be distilled from that.

My main thought, when I first read through the website last August, was "If they can pull this off, it's going to be the coolest thing ever." Here's where the pulling-it-off starts to get tested...
