New cell phone update

Short version: This whole adventure has reinforced my already firm belief that call center jobs suck. Virgin Mobile's call center reps, in particular, are not given anything remotely resembling the tools to solve any but the most predictable of problems.

Less-short version: a/k/a The Silver Lining: I'm not happy to be starting all over again with another phone, but one thing the delay accomplished is that it's a cooler new phone. See, brainiacfive (whose birthday gift to me the new phone is in the first place) noticed that they were having a Cyber Monday sale that brought the Samsung Intercept down to only $25 more than we paid for the LG Rumor Touch. Guess who gets Droid apps after all? \o/

I'm so not going to subject you to the long version. Saving that for the letter to their executive office once everything has shaken out.
