Birds confuse me

First there was the Kamikaze Cardinal at the house. Now I have what appears to be this guy knocking on my office window. Not on the frame (which is metal in any case, and the ledge is concrete), but directly on the glass.

He just left, but he was there for a good ten minutes, working his way across the ledge and taking two or three pecks at the window every few inches. The only thing I can think is that he was after the raindrops clinging to it?

Pretty little guy, anyway, and it was cool to watch him from about five feet away at my desk.

(Incidentally, we are back on the grid at home as of about 6:30 last evening, but I was too tired when I got home from rehearsal to do anything about it.)

I hope the Kamikaze Cardinal is no longer trying to bash his brains out on your window.

While I was at the Detroit Zoo yesterday, I was buzzed by a redwinged blackbird. He flew over me several times, once close enough that I ducked. I wasn't anywhere near a tree when he came after me, and he landed on a different tree after each swoop, so I don't think he was defending his nest. Maybe he just doesn't like photographers.

Nope, we haven't seen the Kamikaze Cardinal in quite a while. I'm hoping she just decided to build her nest elsewhere.

The movie I was just on got buzzed, bombarded, or otherwise bothered by several different birds at several different locations in the space of a week, to the point where the DP was starting to wonder if they should be paying tribute to Hitchcock instead of to Carpenter.
