Anyone up for a revival...

...of the fanfic apology meme? (I may even have actually written enough in the last seven years to warrant a second installment myself.)

...so that's, like, you apologize to your characters? HEE.

I can only imagine what mine would be like. I am not very nice to my characters.

Few of us are. It's more fun that way. *eg*

You were grumpy at Nick the last time you did this! :-) I hope you've rewatched some first-season episodes in the years since. ;-) They de-tox that mood nicely, as a general rule. :-)

*chuckle* IIRC, it was around when amilyn had picked back up on "Slippery" after a considerable hiatus, and we'd been discussing stuff around that most-broken-of-third-season time.

Anyway, it's not like he'd argue with me. ;-)

I'd actually completely forgotten about the meme, but I was reading back through my FK-related entries last night as part of getting in the mood for the ficfest, and this post is the earliest one to bear the tag. Intervening ones, notably the commentaries on two fics, are much less grumpy.

Oh, my hero. Before third season beat him helpless and hopeless...

First season wasn't finished before I reckoned I'd be in pretty good shape if I had a dollar for every time I'd said "I love Nick dearly, but..." At this point, it would alleviate the need for a day job.

It's the fallible ones who endure. :-)

I wish I qualified, but it's been way too long since I did any writing of consequence that would fit the meme...

Pffffft. You'll note that mine goes back well over a decade from the date of the post.

Might have been nice, though. I was already feeling a tad nostalgic toward Nick and crew...even Lacroix. ::sigh::

These things will happen. But hey, fic needs audience too!

Maybe I just miss when vampires were vampires and spontaneously combusted in daylight.

*chuckle* That trope was born entirely of the cinema, y'know. But it's still a fun one to play with.

I have to confess, as much fun as it is to mock the sparkly, I actually kind of like some of her worldbuilding, and even that specific idea. It was executed poorly, but I'm fond of the notion that "we avoid it because it could expose us" got mangled in the telephone game of folklore.

Personally, the biggest thing that makes me go "oh, PLEASE" is that even the most self-loathing vampire has no business subjecting himself to high school over and over again. But it's not nearly as catchy or easy to shorthand as the sparkling. :-D

::g:: This is a brilliant idea! I'd just never stop apologising, alas...

Finally my non-prolific habits have an advantage! ;-D

Okay, that meme idea is WIN! Though mine would basically all boil down to "I break you because I love you... honest... *looks for nearest exit*"

I think that's true for most of us. *eg*
