Those boots so work! Great job on completing the costume!

Thanks! I still want to tweak them to have the front notch (still undecided on the yellow band), but they certainly do the job for now.

It was SO much fun. Highlight of the day: stealth hugs. Just walking along, and then BAM! Small child wrapped around the waist. They don't so much do that when there are four-foot wings in the way. *g*

That's a great Supergirl! (and Superman's kind of cute too!)

Thanks!

It was Tim's first time out as Supes, and OMG he's a baby. A little weird to be his "little" cousin, but we pulled it off. Apparently he's graduating from Robin -- our Robin was someone he recruited to wear his own costume.

The announcer had a lot of fun at his expense -- he and I were both trying to chuck t-shirts over the home plate net, with a stunning lack of success. (Sorry, dude, I played soccer. And flung fellow cheerleaders, but that's been a looooong time.) Then later on we were over by the pitching booth, and the announcer said anyone who could pitch faster than Superman would win a prize. Tim pitched 35 mph, which of a bunch of the older kids in line proceeded to beat. We blamed Kryptonite. :-)

The Robin costume? Do. Not. Want! I nearly cried when they got rid of the red tunic/green leggings and went with "hit me 'cause I'm dressed head to toe in RED!!" O_o

Though the costume does look pretty awesome, despite my prejudices. hee

Your costume is *smashing*! Looked perfect! [and the boots were perfect too!!]

Though...it's all DC! Were you guys being snobs, or did the Phoenix not show? [and after having been bought by Disney, who can blame her? LOL I'd be hiding in shame too! **runs away**]

Dunno where she was, or Spidey either. All the no-shows happened to be Marvel. (And almost those who officially had to cancel, including Cap and Wasp.) Our GL had a Dr. Doom there as a second choice, but he decided it wasn't 100% crowd-ready. Certainly would have been more uncomfortable!

We also had a Bat-no-show -- the Riddler guy switched back and forth with Batman a couple times to compensate.

I got involved because Tim posted on the League of Heroes board, but it was pretty much a (successful!) recruiting move for Gotham's Finest. Which explains the DC slant, though it was just coincidence that Kara was the next on my list to be finished.
