Fic meme

Gakked from thefannishwaldo, and I must be insane for posting it at this particular point in time, but what the heck:

Inspired by Doctor Who's "Turn Left:" Pick one of my stories and tell me a point in the tale that you'd change. Something tiny (e.g. "and then Fay chose silver glitter instead of gold") or big (e.g. "and then Rose was arrested instead of Jack") and I'll tell you how that one difference would have altered the course of the entire story.

My fic may be found here.

Given what the next several weeks look like on my calendar, I can't guarantee anything resembling a prompt response, but I just couldn't resist. There is also the ulterior motive of spreading it to more of you guys. ;-)

you asked for it...
In response to your invitation, I reread -- over breakfast -- four of your archived FK stories that I have not previously featured in the recommendations project, and while I almost went with "what if Natalie had forbidden Lacroix to see Nick as well as Miranda, instead of leaving Nick to his own choices?" (in "Reverie"), because that's such an insightful bit you wrought there, I instead settled on, "what if Natalie had decided that what Nick needed in order to eventually get into the light was for her to lead the way by going into it, instead of returning to him?" (in "Upon the Cheek of Night").

I really enjoyed "Reconstruction," but it still has that "mind that last step" feel... perhaps more than ever, this side of LK? Could there have been another development within canon besides where we unhappily ended up? Rhetorical question. Yes. Of course! But. Butbutbut. HF caused LK, straight up, but AMPH...

Expect an email later about "Silent all these Years." :-)

Thank you for sharing!

Oooh, good one. I'll have to ponder that...

It is frightening how many fandoms we share. Forever Knight was one of the first things I ever netflixed. It was one of the shows I loved watching back when we first got the Scifi channel.

Or am I supposed to say the "syfy" channel or the "scriffy" channel now? All I can remember is that the new name was 20 times dorkier than just calling it scifi.

*snerk* At this point, I'm going with "Marketing Morons Channel."

FK was by far the most obsessive phase of my fannish life. I was even VP of the official fan club for two years.

Seriously, I loved that show like woah. I just wish the fashion choices in it weren't quite so late80's-early90's trend whore. Janette still looks great, but Natalie's clothes are a disaster. Every so often, I get pulled out of the story by the bad perms and shoulder pads *sigh*

And how pathetic am I that I spent all of Slings and Arrows Season Two squeeing because ZOMG Knight is playing Macbeth!

Heee! I loved that it took me about twelve seconds to go from "Ger! Squeee!" to "OH MY GOD SOMEONE PLEASE STRANGLE THIS MAN WITH HIS SCARF." The spiritual bankruptcy of Henry Breedlove was epic.
