Good morning, Chicago!

And welcome to your winter wonderland. %-} One more was inevitable, and at least it's pretty...

And yes, I do need to go out in it, though later than originally planned. Unless my audition tonight gets rescheduled too.

Had fun getting new headshots yesterday, and from what I saw on the camera monitor I think I'll be pleased. Though I find myself once again bemused by makeup artists. Not that I'm ever going to argue that they don't know what they're doing -- the end result of whatever-it-is-always bears that out -- but dude, I use less mascara than that for full-out goth! We're talking bordering on Rose Tyler here.

I think I may be a walking example of the distinction between girly and high-maintenance.

And...Rose Tyler mascara on YOU????

Are there non-Rose-Tyler versions?

Are there non-Rose-Tyler versions?

Um... approximately 95% of the way people wear it? Or... wait, do you mean versions of my headshots, or versions of mascara?

If the former, then no, but it's a matter of what things look like in photos vs. real life.

I mean are there photos in this set with the non-Rose-Tyler-mascara on YOU. :-)

That sounds like mascara bordering on drag queen proportions!

At least it photographs well.

Which is the point. And it wasn't until later that it started looking clumpy and brought the Rose comparison to mind.

The mascara really makes me want to see the photos now. :)

It really doesn't look out of the ordinary in photos. Just felt ridiculously heavy. And the clumpiness was later.

So I guess the makeup people aren't that insane?
Mar. 29th, 2009 04:04 pm (UTC)
Nope. Didn't mean to imply that they were; it's just a Thing What Bemuses Me.

I certainly wouldn't be able to use that much goop and have it look the way it's supposed to on camera. They know what they're doing, and I really really don't.

I wish I could have a makeup artist do me up one day just to see what the result would be. Because... yeah. Those skills are beyond me.

When are you going to get the pictures back? You'll post them, right? :)
Mar. 30th, 2009 05:49 pm (UTC)
Nah. I'll hold them back, just 'cause. ;-P

I have online proofs as of today; the film contact sheets will be about two weeks. I'm booked solid this week, though, so I doubt I'll post anything about them until at least Sunday.

awww, pretty! Your guys' snow lasted longer than ours did, apparently. hee. [don't think we had much come morning, and we *were* getting accumulation.]

Yeah, it really is amazing how much make-up you need to wear In Reality to get a good picture [or look good on film].

Amazing. Appalling. One of those 'a' words. %-}

The snow stuck around for about a day -- it was fresh and new that morning. It was still falling for a while after I took that photo.
