Have a very merry

Happily ensconced on the couch, watching the featurette on the Sweeney Todd DVD (HBC: "If you're going to learn to sing and do your very first musical, it's really stupid to do Mrs. Lovett."), looking a bit like I belong in a Burton film myself in my new stripey turtleneck that I didn't think would happen because it started being listed as "unavailable" just a few days after I put it on my wishlist, with the wonderful aroma of ham wafting out of the kitchen where it's simmering away in the crockpot.

I have books and movies and CDs and fingerless gloves and a sweatshirt that says "Don't MAKE me use my opera voice" and various chocolate in my stocking and pumpkin cheesecake in the freezer. Yuletide is live for the browsing, I have fandom_stockings bookmarked and ideas for stuffing them, and Iron Man is still a damn good movie.

Life is good. :-) Here's hoping yours is too!

But what if I WANT you to use your opera voice?

Then you have but to ask. No need to make me. ;-D

Musicians have the best threats!

And we can carry them out with such ease and glee! *eg*

Love the sweatshirt!

I've watched two versions of The Nutcracker today, and am about to listen to Patrick Stewart reading "A Christmas Carol" while I make gingerbread to take to my sister's house.

Oooh, gingerbread! And I haven't watched any Nutcracker in several years, even though it's been a long while since I was sick of it by the end of October. I should do something about that.

Something from me should have arrived.

Not yet, but now I have something to look forward to!

Oh, and I got the call the other day, and am testing next Tuesday. Thanks again!

Well, good news about the call, though! I hope it ends up being work you won't mind doing. I'm still a bit unenthusiastic about it, even though I did agree. We'll see.

When they give you the grammar test, be VERY picky. Seriously, there were some I had to look at for awhile to figure out what they wanted me to do. It's not a normal editing test but rather a grammar test like you'd have gotten in school.

I'm mostly enthusiastic about the prospect of something reasonably reliable and flexible, with the goal being to transition into combining it with another part-time job so I can jettison the more rigid full-time one.

I'll keep that in mind about the test. I tend to default to that for testing purposes anyway -- comes of being not trained as an editor per se, most likely.

Keep forgetting to tell you, still no sign. Was it sent in a trackable manner? We did have several packages get blow off the porch and into the driveway one particularly blustery day, around the 20th I think. brainiacfive was concerned that something might have gone astray, but everything from family is accounted for.

No... not trackable.

Did you get a card even?
Jan. 1st, 2009 10:17 pm (UTC)
Erm... :: double-checks :: No?

Email me the address you have. Maybe I made a typo? Or else I just need to go yell at our post office.

Merry Christmas!

Both your cards arrived. They're lovely; thank you very much for them!

You're very welcome, and Merry Christmas to you!
