Farthingales in the U.S.!

It's entirely possible I'm actually the last person to know this, but Farthingales now has a store in L.A. The stays for the clockdroid costume finally used up my stash of good plastic boning, but I haven't had occasion to order more until now, and wasn't looking forward to what's happened to the exchange rate in the interim. (That's going to be scary enough at the con next month.) Also, domestic shipping FTW! \o/

I figure you probably already know, but I seem to remember there was some Civil War reinactment not-museum-replicas-but-sorta-like-that catalogue that used to carry all sizes of plastic-coated flat metal boning, back when EM and I were still working Bristol. I could try adn dig up the name of it? I used it in my red tapestry bodice, and it never ever lost its shape. It was fab.

I wouldn't say no, but honestly, I love Farthingales as pie. They'd have to do something astonishingly boneheaded to make me take my business elsewhere at this point.

Also, I am well stocked on a couple sizes of steel boning atm. There are just purposes for which I prefer the heavy-duty plastic whalebone they get from Germany.

So thanks, but definitely don't go to any trouble. :-)

*chuckle* Hey, you never know what they're going to come out with next, so it's a perfectly reasonable thought!
