The Other Boleyn Girl trailer

At IMDb. Go forth and gaze upon the pretty. (I'm probably behind the curve on this one, but I don't think I've seen it from the various costumers on my flist. Entirely possible I just missed it, tho.)

It's not doing much to assuage my doubts about the wisdom of casting Eric Bana as Big Henry, but other than that, oh yeah, I'm there. I think it was padawansguide (maybe?) who posted the nice detailed still of Mary's gold gown recently, and holy spinnoli. :: surreptitiously steps over puddle of drool ::

Post-show brainfried. This is as smart as it gets tonight. Me go steam and sleep now.

I am most skeptical of Queen Amidala pulling off any real acting.

She's one of those people who can be really good when they're directed well. This looks promising to me, though it's hard to tell from a trailer.

This one? There are lovely stills of it out now:

Wow is right.

This one popped up on my radar just before Christmas.
Can't wait to see it, if not for the acting, then most definitely for the costuming awesome *squees*
Although I'm still not quite recovered from Elizabeth and it's pretty. Yes, I know, not entirely period accurate, but I simply can't be too picky about that in this case! :-)

*chuckle* I never got a chance to catch E:TGA in the cinema. Just too busy. I should put it on my Netflix waiting list while I'm thinking about it.

I learned not to care about that a loooooong time ago. History is history and movies are movies. Apart from the occasional fun snarking, anything else will just make a person cranky for no good reason.

I've seen a couple people make comments to that effect, which makes me think she must be another one who needs a good director. The only thing I've ever actually seen her in was Girl With a Pearl Earring, which I unreservedly love.

I have seen this trailer, and having read the book, am amused at how much *more* they're going to mess with timelines and history. But also, yay costumes!

How did the Ball of Operatic fluff go? And how are your sinuses?

Amusement is really the only way to go. History is history and movies are movies. The people who do entertaining snark I'm fine with; the ones who go off on an indignant tear make me roll my eyes and back away slowly. Just not something I feel the need to get that cranky about.

Ball of Operatic Fluff was a big hit. Sinuses are fine; it appears they were just doing the Amazing Human Barometer thing, much to my relief. They're at it a little bit again today, but nothing to make me think incipient infection. :: touch wood ::

Oooooh! Pretty!

Lots of wondering when they cast Jonathon Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII in The Tudors. He's doing a great job IMO.

Now, see, JRM I got. Steerpike with a birthright. Totally works.

Bana... I said to myself, "Well, maybe he's got some not-so-mild-mannered in there that I haven't seen." But still not seeing it, at least in the trailer. *shrug*

It's blink or you'll miss him, concerning the trailer. The couple times I've caught it, it's mainly focusing on Natalie & Scarlett's pouts.
