Slings & Arrows (finally!)

The lovely amilyn fed me season 1 all in one glorious gulp a couple weekends back, and I'm two eps into season 2. There is babbling aplenty in my little brain, but just one thing I have to get out of my system now because there are several of you lot who will be amused by it:

So, at the read-through? It took me approximately 12.7 seconds to go from "Ger! Yay!" to "DEAR GOD SOMEONE PLEASE STRANGLE THIS MAN WITH HIS SCARF SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP!!!" I am entertained.

Y'know, there are so many things that would go so much smoother at that company with the suitable application of not putting up with anyone's crap. Geoffrey's biggest insanity in my book is letting them get away with it. But then, if he didn't, there wouldn't be a show, and that would be sad indeed. *g*

Isn't that the most awesome thing ever? I really wanted to be able to watch it with you because I think that watching you watch the show would be entertaining all by itself. :-)

Hee! I'm of course all over it because "OMGTHISISMYLIFE!" (Okay, yeah, turned up to 11. But still.) Which makes it a source of unutterable gleeeee that so many other people are all over it because it's Just. That. Fabulous.

Had I known you were watching S&A, I would've been rubbing my hands together in glee at the thought of you hitting S2.

(I remember thinking as I watched the show, "For some reason I cannot fathom, Geoffrey kind of reminds me of Nick Knight." AND THEN GER SHOWS UP.)

Well, I knew he was in S2, and it wasn't much of an intuitive leap from there to "He's probably their Big Mac" and "Who is no doubt this person Richard is all excited about getting."

And then he shows up. And promptly needs to DIE.

No, seriously. My patience for the Henry Breedloves of the world has been running in the red for at least a decade. Loud? Whatever. Always "on"? I can deal. Patronizing the director? DIEDIEDIEDIEDIE. (Particularly not the brightest move when the director's nervous habits include chewing on razor blades and talking to dead people...)

I'm also giggling hysterically as Geoffrey's intoning of "Macbeth" gets more ominous and OTT every time he says it. That would be one way in which he does not remind me of a certain artistic director from my decade on Columbus. He was known to lock people outside and make them do the ritual when it was 2 degrees.

I adore S&A with a fiery passion! Once you're through S3, we'll talk. Don't want to accidentally spoil!!

It's a date!

I just started season 3 last night, having found all 3 used over the week-end (to replace my sad little bootlegs) and OMG LOVE. Seriously.

(Tho Ellen bugs me, and I tend to skip her.)

Ellen still bugs me some, but I've gotten used to her. Every once in a while she has a moment where I'm like "See? You could be a functional human being!" Aaaaaand, then it's gone.

HEE! I kept hoping you'd watch S&A! Can't wait to read any posts you make about it!!

Hmm. Never did find a S&A icon that I liked.

I need to get at least one. Perhaps a Crazy!Geoffrey to swap out for this one...

I've seen S1 & S2, but have no access to S3. (one of the downsides of not having cable) But I adore the series with a mad passion.

And you are going to love the denoumente in S2!

S3 just came out on DVD a week or two ago.

I have cable, but not Bravo. Or whatever it was running on.

Okay, how is it that you haven't seen S&L until now? HOW???

Aug. 28th, 2007 11:29 pm (UTC)
With much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and insufficiently concerted effort to get my hands on it.

I had it on my Netflix queue for ages, but with people telling me I'd want to do a season at a gulp (and boy, were they right), didn't move it to the top because I never had the time to do that. I did it with S2 after seeing Amy's S1.

Damn initialisms. S&A, of course.
