Website pruning

As long as I couldn't get back to sleep after giving Diablo his gooshy food and vitamins this morning (I refuse to get up at dawn, when he starts meowing some days, but on weekends I'll usually take care of him at the standard weekday time and then go back to bed), I decided taking a virtual pruning saw to the Woods would be about the speed my brain was up to.

Soooooo much better. Actual updated content will of course wait for a bit, but with a bunch of obsolete stuff out of the way, it's amazing how much more manageable the job suddenly looks.

Avant Garde and Free Tom Warner! Campaign HQ: Jettisoned for obvious reasons, both way overdue. Considering Deb's private-citizenhood of a decade's standing now, the former would have gone ages ago if there hadn't still been people expressing interest. But with the release of the FK DVDs, the fandom got an influx of new people, and the niche is more than adequately covered. As for poor psychotic Tom, that was just sheer laziness. Tells me just how long I've been out of the habit of keeping the darn thing updated, since Buffy has been off the air for how long now? *eyeroll at self* Fun while it lasted, tho. If you can't root for your college classmates in this crazy biz, who can you root for? I'll never be famous (nor do I particularly want to be; I'd be quite happy with working), but it's nice to know that, between Todd and Sandi, the Class of '91 has done its part to to ensure that the unfortunate Jon-Erik Hexum is not the MSU Theatre Department's sole contribution to the public consciousness. (I wonder if Dr. Schuttler still brings the poor guy up as a cautionary tale on the first day of Theatre 101?)

Webrings, Awards, and even the Long List O' Links: Jettisoned wholesale, with palpable relief. Especially the links page; the other two were cool seven or eight years ago, but they're just not a relevant part of Web culture anymore. As for the links page, updating it was the most daunting prospect, and after clicking through three or four of them, I decided that I'm probably better off starting from scratch.

Fireside Tales: Jettisoned, since I never ended up writing anything for it but the Cinderella essay. Which would have been a blog post if it had been written when I had a blog. So I'm going to post it here.

"Me Stuff": Folded into the front page, now that there's so much less stuff on it. Likewise, the Star Wars Tarot (all three cards of it...another abandoned project) didn't need a front-page link, and has been folded into the Graphics Gallery.

Doubt thou the stars are fire: The only "special interest" section I'm interested in keeping, and which also occasionally gets links and/or comments. I've even had people contact me to use it for school projects, which is cool. Desperately needs updating, but not completely useless in its current form.

Thanks to DreamHost's constant upgrading, I have ridiculous amounts of storage space going unused. So uploading the rest of my vids (the only one up right now is "Children of Eve") is among the first couple orders of business. Along with FINALLY constructing a decent self-marketing site to send people to, rather than just my resume. Which, among other things, requires me to finish my $*#(&$ costume design portfolio.

So I guess I'd better quit sitting here writing about it and do something, huh? Or at least do some cleaning in my real house...

The Star Wars tarot is a broken link.
The requested URL /starwars/tarot.html was not found on this server.

Thankyouthankyou! I don't believe how much better I like it just uncluttered, without any real updating.
