This one's for Havoc and Ceridwyn...

...because I've seen you both pondering crossover potential. Just because l don't think it's logistically feasible...

You remember the baby uniform in "Close Call"? The one who gave Schanke a parking ticket, busted his chops about the Caddy not being his, and was deeply unimpressed when he tried to pull rank?

This baby uniform?

It's not in me to batter either canon enough out of shape, alas. Which is too bad, because the idea of Henry not actually being the first vampire she's met is terribly amusing.

Still, if an opportunity for an in-joke shoutout presents itself, it may just have to be taken.

*whistles innocently* Nick could have left Toronto before Henry got there... hence no territory dispute.

And he can always be the one to tell her Nick was a vampire.

Mike's head would explode, of course. Spectacularly.

Yeah, but the place was crawling with 'em before that. That would have to be a plot point all its own. Resulting in a spectacular explosion of Henry's head to match Mike's.

Coreen would, of course, be hideously disappointed that all this went down when she was in, like, kindergarten.

That sort of taffy-pull is havocthecat's specialty, I believe. Hence the pointing out. *eg*

Don't look at me, I'm still pondering the Henry at SFX-ish con story....

Could be different strains of vampires; they do have different mythologies attached.

And...poor Coreen. But don't TALK to me about college kids having been in KINDERGARTEN when Nick and company were running amuck in TO. Just...don't.

I was reading the SciFiWire interview with CC, where the reporter seemed to have a serious bee in the bonnet about her having come "full circle" from Joan being one of her first jobs. And she was very politely explaining, "Um, hi, kinda fuzzy on account of I was NINETEEN and only in the flashback. I actually have no idea what the main plot was about."

I just couldn't help chuckling that someone so hung up on the notion (a) couldn't spell Ger's name, and (b) didn't mention that she'd been on it twice. *snerk* Then I remembered the attitude of the second appearance...

So looking at the "Close Call" credits, this is "Motorcycle Cop," Christina Cox, and she's now starring in that show you're all watching on that channel I don't get?

Right. As a Toronto P.I. who had to leave the police force due to a degenerative eye disease. And who is not at all difficult to see as the same woman, older and wiser but with no less attitude.

There have been several mentions of her having played Joan of Arc in "For I Have Sinned," which makes sense since it was a considerably more substantial role. But occurred to me that no one else appeared to remember thinking "Hey, that uniform cop is Joan!", or had remarked that she could easily be a snapshot of Vicki twelve years ago.

It didn't start off quite as strongly as FK, but it's really hitting its stride at episodes 7-8.

P.S.
I don't know if you use iTunes, but they've been offering all the episodes there.

Re: P.S.
Thank you. No, I've never used iTunes. ~shrug~

I only got DSL a month or so ago, you know. :-) I'm still terribly impressed that I can watch _The Daily Show_ one day late on the Comedy Central website, and download the _Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me_ podcast if I miss the weekly broadcast!

Re: P.S.
That's right, I forgot about the DSL. I don't use iTunes either, but I figured I'd toss the option out there in case. :-)

OMG...I remember you posting this...and thinking at first glance (as you did the "take a guess") that this was Billie Piper because of the cheeks.

It seems, at this point, like the vampire mythologies are too different, but they could be two different types who don't ping one another. And that COULD be Vicki. And how Nick would have clashed in EVERY WAY with Henry.

You know...folks on BT are SO MUCH HEALTHIER than their FK counterparts. That's a real plus.

*chuckle* Presumably before you realised that I was talking about FK, and Billie was therefore, what, 11?

It seems, at this point, like the vampire mythologies are too different, but they could be two different types who don't ping one another.

*nods* I'd have a really hard time swallowing tha they never ran into each other throughout their respective centuries, but it could be done, if someone did it right. It would just be really, REALLY hard for the author to do enough work that the reader wouldn't have to do too much.

I still occasionally look at "Spring Break" and see the seams where I stitched the verses together, as much positive feedback as I got for making them mesh. For me, this would be even harder.

folks on BT are SO MUCH HEALTHIER than their FK counterparts. That's a real plus.

*nods* And considering the issues they do have, rather a frightening observation. But it's like what we've talked about with SG-1: the writers let them deal with things as grownups. There's not the absolute rock-solid certainty of the support structure not turning in and sabotaging itself, but they're still way ahead of the FK folks or latter-season Scoobies.
