Once a costumer...

Con report still to come. But I had to report that, per usual, I have been struck by next year's concept within the week after the con.

In the spirit of not doing a massive construction project two years in a row, but still hopefully presenting something entertaining, it will involve a ballgown, surgical scrubs, and a karaoke track for "Un bel dì vedremo." And probably a nice young man in a clean white coat. ;->

You say ballgown and surgical scrubs, all I can think is Grace in the TV movie. That slo-mo scene as she runs down the hospital corridor in her gown.

*googles 'Un bel dì vedremo'* Ah, yes. *grin* I'll go away now with my total lack of operatic knowledge.

Hey, if it weren't a little opaque, it wouldn't be nearly as fun! *eg*

(Everybody knows the thing when they hear it -- it's the most overused aria EVER for TV, movies, whatever -- but mostly only opera dorks know what it's called.)

I have a hard time resolving "ball gown" and "not massive construction project" as not being mutually exclusive. But if you say so.... :-)

Does "off the rack" help? *g*

ChiTARDIS's masquerade carries on the Visions tradition of being part talent show. I have a massive complex about ever entering a typical masquerade wearing anything I didn't actually make, but the Visions/CT model is a whole different thing.

There's something about cons... those words "next time, we ought to do..." just keep appearing, no matter how tired and stressed you are.

I was about to say it's just because there's never enough time. But really, the con could be a month long, and we'd still say it...

Month long cons!

EEEK!

(Just spent 12 days staffing two cons back to back, with a location change in the middle...)

Just don't take 5 minutes! (I've been taken to task for saying that in my LJ. I am unrepentant.)

Oh, I'm way too dyed-in-the-wool for that. I was agonizing over not having time to cut my music properly this time...

ok, I am hopelessly uncultured and still new to Who-dom-- I have no clue as to the significance of your costume for next year. Help?

I was being purposely opaque, and it refers to the TV-movie with Paul McGann.

Which you should see mostly because it was shot in Vancouver, including a major plot point involving a huge New Millennium's Eve celebration at a particularly recognizable location...

*wince* All locations in Vancouver seem memorable to me-- I've been known to recognise particular trees and logs... :P

Maybe some year I'll get a job and an pick up the film. :P

Or, y'know rent it. Or visit...

And the location in question is man-made, and highly distinctive.

Choice 2 would be my preference, but, see above re: money/job. Of course, if I can't get anything soon, I may have to move to a better economy anyway...

oh boy... :P
