#3: Suitably creepy and effective. Particularly liked seeing that side of Owen with that timing. I won't say I like him yet, but he's a least a bit realer.

#4: Ianto deserved a framework for his character showcase that was not a complete and utter steaming pile of crap. Pity he didn't get one.

Jury still out on whether the show merits an icon. (Really must get a Heroes one, tho.)

I agree with both comments. Overall, I like the show. I am not saying it's good, or even as good as it can be, but I like it. However I had NO desire to ever see #4 again having seen it once. It left me cold. #3, I definitely rewatched a bit.

Interestingly, this is one of the first episodes that I really loved. I'd like to see Ianto have been played less as a weeping mess, but the actual plotline, from the horrifying half-cyberized scientist through the glorious cheese of pterodactyl vs skankbot. I was more scared during #4 than I ever was in 3.

I tried to be scared, and just couldn't do it. Crossed the line for me from "suspension of disbelief" to "hanging it by the neck until it is dead." :-/

But glad to hear it worked for someone else.

Different strokes. The gore got me - seeing someone dead and half cyberized was WAY more scary than the bloodless version for the kiddies!
