Yay, natural light!

I type this (on my break) from my nifty new office, complete with window! (South facing, yet.)

Even better, it is NOT immediately adjacent to the mailroom (with the Evil Noisy Folding Machine) and the server room (with the Evil Squealy Fix-Me-Now Alarms). BigBossLady swung by as I was getting the last of my stuff settled and wrote "No more mail machine noise!!!" on my whiteboard with a big smiley face.

Also, I like the wallpaper better.

Did I mention I have NATURAL LIGHT? *bounce*

Yay for the new office! And for the natural light! It is a wonderful thing, I know from the personal experience of working in an office with no light at all for years!

I've referred to the old office as "my cave" for...probably two years now. Mostly it was a joke about my being squirreled away getting stuff done and not noticing, say, when someone quit two weeks ago. But it was also partly the no-window thing.

The building is actually set up such that the majority of them have windows, but they like to keep the collectors all together. One recently opened up on the end, so I got it. Anniversary present -- I've now been here three years. Longer than any job, not counting about five years of doing costuming at home!

Not huge, but big enough for me. :-)

Natural Light
Oh! A window! Congratulations! I had a window at work, once, years ago. It was the best. Health and happiness in natural light.

Last week's Bones premiere introduced a new character (about whom I've not entirely made up my mind) who was pitched to us as all practicality (as opposed to the rampant, if divergent, idealism of the other characters) through her explanation that she'd taken the job for the cutting-edge tools and the skylight. :-)

Re: Natural Light
I'm excited. It's the first time since my first job out of college. :-)
