So, does Boomer's spine glow during sex too? 'Cause you'd think there'd be a concern about Helo or Tyrol noticing.

But maybe, since she's the "good girl" they seem to be sending after the "good" guys (thus incurring Six's jealousy), she's programmed for missionary only... *eg*</lj>

There's a character named Six on that show? Has anyone thought about pairing him with Seven from Voyager? ;-)

Her, actually, but I'm sure they have. There are plenty of people in fandom who would find some way to put them together for Teh Pretteh. That's her in this icon -- former VS model.

I've actually seen at least one person refer to her as "Six of Twelve," which is sort of accurate, tho she's properly called "Number Six." There are twelve models of humanoid Cylon, with multiple copies of each. The first one of her we met explained that she's "number six", which is how she's referred to.

I missed the only one where it's possible one of her would have had to give an actual name, but she may have gotten around it there too. From the miniseries, Baltar was apparently boffing her for weeks without having a name to call her. But Baltar being Baltar, I can actually buy it. The boy is NOT right.

Just realized why you said "he". Six is jealous of the guys Boomer gets, not because Boomer is hers.

Boomer is the clean-cut pilot chick -- one of the guys on the job, but cute and sexy when the occasion calls for it. She's designed to appeal to the guys actually out for healthy relationships.

Six is, as bktheirregular put it (channeling John Crichton), "Playbot of the Month," and gets deployed as a pure fantasy figure for such gems of humanity as Baltar. Who is really, really not well.

The Boomer/Six interplay is one of our best clues thus far as to what the hell the Cylons' plan actually is.

Whoa. It's as if they considered the crossover/femslash potential when writing the character. ;-)

*chuckle* Or possibly they're just geeks, and there's some straightforward homage in there. We are talking Ron Moore here, after all...

My take is they just plain stole the idea from Voyager.

After all, tall blonde bit of stuff with a number for a name? Now where could we possibly have seen that before?

Though, of course, one could also reason that her particular number is a reference to The Prisoner

BTW, as far as I saw, she never did get named in the whole of season one.

Now where could we possibly have seen that before?

Possibly the last franchise Ron Moore worked on? :-)

That would be in just under six hours.

Just the way I like it. :-)

Speaking as someone whose cable provider chose to yank the Sci Fi channel last year, and therefore with no access to such programming, WAH!!!!!!!!
Mar. 4th, 2005 09:27 pm (UTC)
They SUCK! :-( {{{ sympathy }}}

I've been entirely cable-less for the last year, but at least I had sources for catching up easily.
Mar. 4th, 2005 10:06 pm (UTC)
No such sources over here. Le pout, indeed.
Mar. 4th, 2005 11:21 pm (UTC)
I thought they had an additional scene in the US where Boomer's spine does glow?
Mar. 6th, 2005 03:54 pm (UTC)
Not that I've seen. I missed one (the one where a flesh & blood Six showed up on Galactica), but otherwise am caught up.

Maybe it's a rumor about one we haven't seen yet. I don't think I saw that happen and forgot...
Mar. 6th, 2005 03:56 pm (UTC)
No, it might actually have happened in Litmus. (The ep you missed.) I'm pretty sure it did happen as it was all over the boards.
Mar. 6th, 2005 03:59 pm (UTC)
*shakes head* I saw "Litmus." Missed the one before.

I saw Sharon wake up and sneak off to gloat at the other two. *lightbulb* Wait, I wasn't packing, I was at havocthecat's house. And had just spent three hours trapped in a title office for our closing.

Much becomes clearer now. I was that brain-fried. And clearly must watch the ep again...
Mar. 6th, 2005 04:02 pm (UTC)
I really can't remember what ep it was in but I think it's either Litmus or degrees. Then again, I haven't seen it myself as the UK version didn't show that (actually most rips are of the first airing from Sky and that is sensored because it's early on the evening, repeats are apparently complete but it's frakking annoying). It should be there somewhere though! ;o)
Mar. 6th, 2005 09:38 pm (UTC)
Six Degrees of Seperation. The sex scene with Boomer/Helo has a glowing spine....
Mar. 6th, 2005 03:58 pm (UTC)
Dude, Thrace. Stop following me around! *runs off to hide*
Mar. 6th, 2005 09:39 pm (UTC)
Thrace, honey, do I have to get a leash for you?
Mar. 6th, 2005 09:41 pm (UTC)
*smirks* If you're into that sort of stuff...
Mar. 6th, 2005 10:13 pm (UTC)
*snorts* C'mon, honey, we have better things to do...
Mar. 6th, 2005 10:15 pm (UTC)
*blinks* We do?
Mar. 5th, 2005 11:50 am (UTC)
I can't recall when Galactica!Boomer and Tyrol got hot and heavy, what postion they were using...LOL But then, I'm not entirely sure they *showed* anything beyond the making out, anyway.

Caprica!Boomer, on the other hand, yes, her spine did glow. And actually...she was on top. Hard for a guy to see a gal's back, when he's got his face full of **coughs** other things. *VEG* And, it also intimated that the spine doesn't actually glow until climax was achieved.

Which, if nothing else, says that Baltar's not so bad in the sack after all. *VEG*
Mar. 6th, 2005 03:55 pm (UTC)
*blink* I missed that how? Must have been more wiped out from packing than I thought...
