Down to the wire

Remember when I said you could all mock me when my brain started melting in a week an a half?

It's been a week and a half. Mock away.

Approximately 96% of this show's costumes are in place. That other 4% is making me CRAZED.

Biggest concern right now is that I still have no hat for MobBossWithBigHeadAndLotsOfHair. And I let it get too late to easily get one shipped from Berkeley Hat. And I have to go to the fabric store for snap tape and the grocery store for baggies or something for jewelry, etc. on my lunch today. Costume parade (i.e. "put stuff on the actors and make sure it doesn't look ridiculous on stage") is at the beginning of rehearsal tonight. I'm resigned to the fact that there will be a couple pieces not represented, and that they just won't have them until tomorrow. And I know they'll be okay with that, because frankly I'm well ahead of the curve as these things usually go.

This is where being an actor is both a benefit and a handicap: I know how the stress increases exponentially every second you don't have something that you're going to need to be wearing when the butts are in the seats. I don't wig about it to the extent that some people do -- I'm pretty darn easygoing -- but I know a lot of people do, and the stress also spills over onto the colleagues who have to share a dressing room with them.

Tech week stress is inevitable. I like to keep my contribution to it to a minimum. And realistically it is at a minimum, but it's not perfect. Which makes me crabby.

Headachey today, which doesn't help.

It'll all be good when the show is up, but the next few days... They don't call it "Hell Week" for nothing! %-}

Also? My muse needs to be beaten soundly with a crowbar for feeding me a WHOLE NEW FIC IDEA early yesterday morning. 'Cause, y'know, I don't have half a dozen OTHER things that have been waiting not-so-patiently for me to have time to write. Gaahhh.

muses have the worst timing sometimes - it's like they have no consideration for all the things you should be doing

Yuppers. I'm pretty sure they do it on purpose. Considering that it's Sam-in-my-head telling this particular tale, and if I don't have time to write it, she doesn't have to deal with the messy bits... ;-)
