Any thoughts I might have been entertaining about staying this blonde for a while? Officially kaput. 1/4 inch roots that are REALLY obvious and tacky after 4 weeks = color I do NOT want to try to keep up with. Uh-uh.

I'll touch up this weekend for Halloween, and then the next time the roots start showing, I'm taking it back down several notches.

Actually, it's been done for a couple days, but I haven't been posty or time-having.

I am not as blonde as this icon of MM, although I'm about as blonde as she was at other times (e.g. Bus Stop).

We're definitely in Glinda territory. Or some of the scarier epochs of Sam Carter's tonsorial evolution.

I am still not as blonde as [info]amilyn's children. ;-D

Yes, there will be photographic evidence. Soon. See above re: time-having.

Beware of blonde

I'm slightly frightened of how blonde I'll be going this weekend. I wouldn't have to, but they're using snippets of the original movie in the production, in which Barbara is of course the only one of the principals seen. Ergo, über-blonde with a headband fall.

Possibly I will take advantage of the circumstance by going as Marilyn for Halloween. This is the latest I've gone without at least starting to plan a Halloween costume in any year I can recall. Though I've been thinking I'd probably do Satine again, so that probably counts as planning.

Barbara shouldn't scare the zombies. Several are still learning not to cringe at the screaming. *eg*

Adventures in Chemically Altered Tresses )

Two days in, I'm liking it a lot. Hopefully that will continue, because I really am bored with the shortshort, but I'm too spoiled by not having had to fuss with it for so long. And I leave too darn early in the morning.

Observations

1. It appears to be Monday. This is apparent not only from the calendar, but from the phenomenon whereby a significant proportion of my circle of acquaintance seems to be having a Seriously Crappy Day. {{{{{hugs}}}}} to all the victims!

2. As of 6:37 p.m. CST, I'm not having a Seriously Crappy Day. ::sends gratitude out to Universe and more sympathy to buds::

3. Herbal Essences highlighting goo going on blue so you can see where you've already put it? Really is all it's cracked up to be. Plus the comb thingie is the easiest-to-control design I've yet encountered. If the results make me as happy as the process, I may actually become loyal to a highlighting kit. Weird.

4. The amusement factor of sitting at the computer with blue streaks in my hair is an added bonus. ;-)

5. In light of #4, I appear to be easily amused this evening.

6. #5 is greatly facilitated by the fact that, while I am by no means bouncing off the walls or otherwise showing signs of being over the Damned Inconvenient Cold, I bear a much less marked resemblance to the walking dead than I have for the past several days. I think my brain cells are even carrying a measurable charge.

7. [info]samkicksass's new headshot, and the outtake from the session for same, register way higher than legally acceptable levels of Cute. It is time for the Universe to take notice and make her a big ol' star.

8. I am hampered from joining in the Fun With Outtakes due to having left the CD-ROMs from my April photo session in Columbus. Forgot that I had just copied the "good" ones onto my hard drive, so I don't have any of the incredibly gorpy ones to put up.

9. Toddlers are fun. And loud.

10. [info]mrv3000 is a freakin' Photoshop genius. She knows why.

11. [info]chiroho, meanwhile, is a Photoshop enabler of the highest order.

12. [info]cheekygal needs to get better so that the first clause of #9 kicks back in. {{{hugs}}}

13. It's time to rinse the fun blue stuff out of my hair.

Fluffy!

I have not, as I was tempted to do right after TWP wrapped, streaked my hair pink (although I did buy some streaky stuff that washes out after one shampoo, in both pink and blue, but I haven't had occasion to use it). I did give in to the urge for follicular experimentation, however, by trying this Ogilvie "Texture and Volume Booster." Which is, as I suspected upon first spotting the box, pretty much a body perm by any other name, but since it's an ammonia-free formula I thought I'd give it a shot. See if it would pump up the natural wave in my baby-fine mop.

Well, it's pumped up all right. To judge from my past experience with regular perms (which I used to do myself when my hair was long, and a couple haircut cycles ago even did over henna -- which you're not supposed to do at all -- albeit at least three weeks after coloring it), it should settle down some in a couple days and more within a week, but in the meantime I've got this sort of weird hybrid Meg Ryan/Jean Harlow thing going on. Since I was pretty much aiming for just the former, I should be okay, but right now? Weird. Especially the bangs.

On the plus side, it doesn't feel crispy-fried at all. Just curly. And fluffy.

And if I think it's weird now, I'm about to wear a phone headset for 8 hours...

madness, slings & arrows
This is a good time to mention that, typically for when I'm doing a show or film and can't change my hair, I've been having the nigh-irresistible urge to streak it pink lately. (I don't always specifically want to streak it pink, but do almost always want to make some radical change when it's not allowed.)

Now that TWP is wrapped, I technically can, but should probably wait to find out what's the ups with potential jobness. Probably wouldn't do to turn up that way at the office where I was Little Miss Professional in my oh-so-sharp suit last week. At least not initially...

The BLF founder is staying blonde.

Nick changed his mind, and I am now not going brunette for Amy. Which saves me some brainpower in figuring out how to keep it the same shade for a month.

Plus I might get to cut it. Need to find a good picture to show him what I want to get the green light.

Got to really liking [info]tinagilman's ergonomic keyboard last weekend. Hit CompUSA and bought one for myself tonight. May pick up another for work.

The following is completely gratuitous girly hair stuff. )

Mom's probably emailing me more blonde jokes this very moment. ;-)
