Seen every-bloody-where, because we're just like that. I did actually think of doing it before I saw everyone else doing it, pretty much immediately upon reading "Your Friends Are Not Watching the Same Show You Are (And That's Okay)", but since I have no doubt that pretty much everyone I know independently did the same thing, it all comes out in the lemmingy wash. ;-)

There are way thinkier and/or more creative things I want to post about, but the quick and easy will have to do for now.

I'm about halfway through listening to the archive of the show, and it appears she was on the phone with them for the full hour, taking calls. (Which I would have known BEFORE it happened if I'd found the darn newsletter in my spam filter in time...) Just fun and rambly and chatty. Only a couple of oblique mentions of BT, at least so far, but a definite must if you're interested in Gina in general.

The other podcast she mentioned, "The Two Doctors," is here. Just found it, off to download now...

So I watched this week's Flash Gordon over lunch, and am abjectly shocked, because my response (aside from the inappropriate glee of ( spoiler )) was "Dude! If they keep making THIS show, I'll actually want to watch it, instead of hanging in there for whatever little Gina fix they see fit to give me!"

(I know I keep saying it and saying it, but seriously. DALE FRELLING ARDEN. It can't be THAT hard to give her some agency and/or plot that you don't miss if you blink. And it may be my imagination, but they might actually finally be figuring out how!)

In fact, if they had been making that show all along, things would probably have been such that I wouldn't have had the inappropriate glee.

Color me stunned.

Nice timing on finally giving Dale something to do besides lie poorly to Detective Cardboard. What with Gina's previous gig being back on the air on the same night (and in fact directly opposite your second airing) and all.

Because when "supporting character on rather obscure show that calls for playing a dozen years younger" > "reinvention of SF icon with 75 years of history"? UR DOING IT WRONG.

So, there are a bunch of Flash Gordon stills up now on Gina Holden's official site. Aside from a slightly different version of the previously mentioned "OMGWTFRAYGUN?!" shot, they're mostly nondescript one- and two-person frames that could be from pretty much any contemporary show.

Except for three (ETA: Oh, yeah, make that four, and how could I forget THAT expression? Hee!), which, um. *snorfle* Err... Probably not as wacky as what poor Melody Anderson wound up in. But I had to think about it for a minute to decide that. And may still downgrade that "probably" to a "maybe." I mean, c'mon, Ming, she's a journalist, not a flamingo! O_o

I think I'd have been missing Coreen's favorite purple corset right about then...

Thanks to petzipellepingo for the heads-up. Somehow I got it in my head that they weren't starting until June, but this sounds like they're pretty well underway already.

Eric Johnson on Queen, Flash's various sports careers, and androids in his kitchen. Some fairly promising-sounding tidbits on how they're going about the update, and I love Gina's "OMGWTFRAYGUN?!" expression in the still on the third page. :-)

Tanya Huff confirms that we will be Coreenless if and when BT gets a second season.

Still pleased for Gina. Still looking forward to seeing her Dale. Still pouting a bit.

Newsbite via midnites_angel over on bloodties_tv: Gina Holden (Coreen on BT, a/k/a Haley from the "Wendigo" ep for the SPN folks) will be Dale Arden in SciFi's new Flash Gordon series. Which I think I vaguely remember hearing about recently; I'm assuming it was in the midst of the Great Penzance Train Wreck, or it would have stuck better.

I would never have thought of it, but I can totally see it. And that's a positive comment -- heck, I think the original 1930s Dale is pretty cool. We will not discuss the 1930s Princess Aura, who HAS to have been somebody's niece. Or mistress. Or both. *cringe*

Remains to be seen what this would mean for Coreen if BT gets another season, since current word is that they're aiming to resume production in August. Someone raised the comparison of Michael Rosenbaum doing voice work on JLU concurrently with Lex on Smallville, but voice work is a whole different kettle of fish. And in this day and age, I'll be very surprised if they don't make Dale a full-blown lead.

So, great news for Gina, but if when we get Team Vicki back, it might be short one computer-savvy goth girl. :-/

ETA: Oh, and Jody Racicot (Henry's doorman) is Dr. Zarkov!
