Voice stuff

Various folks (butterflykiki, this means you) who've asked me about voice training, and what it entails, etc... Listen to Fresh Air on NPR today. The guest is a vocal coach named Patsy Rodenberg, and a lot of what she's been saying coincides with what I learned in the Linklater work I did with Shakespeare & Company. Just in the first few minutes, she's said a lot of the most important stuff. Very interesting stuff. Much more articulate than my many (failed) attempts to explain it without getting people to do it. :-)

Re: Yess!
Have I ever given you the info on the Linklater book when you could actually write it down or whatever? It's Freeing the Natural Voice by Kristen Linklater.

If you missed Fresh Air, I think you can go through links on the NPR website to get tapes/transcripts. Also, the woman in the interview today (which was taped in 2000) has a book out called The Actor Speaks that it sounds like I need to add to my collection.
