"I kill people, dear."

I may technically be a bad person for laughing at most of the things I laughed at in RED. At least I'm not alone? What with their being intentionally funny and all.

Finally saw it today at the second-run cinema. I expected a certain level of tongue-in-cheek over-the-topness, but not that it would be quite such a well-constructed movie in addition to being hella entertaining. This despite the fact that, even in the midst of being very entertained, I hit about the halfway mark thinking "Where is my Helen Mirren with a bigass gun? I was promised Helen Mirren with a bigass gun!"

Fear not. Suffice it to say the late arrival is amply compensated. ;->

Did Ms Mirren give the impression that she was enjoying the role? Because it certainly sounds like it, and if so, I may have to see it myself - maybe in an Athens theater, with the added entertainment of deciphering the Greek subtitles.

I'm pretty sure everyone had way too much fun. If not, they're all even better actors than I thought.

Only movie I made any effort to see in a cinema in 2010.

I think she's said in interviews that the selling point for her taking the role was 1. NOT the Queen, and 2. the guns!

This was a rocking fun movie. I had the best time laughing at the story. Good fun!
