And the bird weirdness just keeps coming

This one was, to our vast confusion, IN the house this morning. Clinging calm as you please to the sheers on the French doors in the dining room. When it didn't care that I opened the other half of the door for it to go out, or even when I knocked on the outside of the half of the door it was on, I worried that it was sick or something.

However, it cared once I had a large plastic mixing bowl over it. I managed to catch only one wingtip feather while sliding a serving plate under that, and it flew away with satisfying alacrity once I had it outside.

The only thing we can think is that it flew in when brainiacfive briefly had one of the dining room windows open the other day to deal with the air conditioner being not positioned properly in it (resulting in a bit of a puddle that needed cleaning up). Where it would have been hiding since then, though, I don't know. O_o

When I saw your "IDEK," my brain supplied "IDIC." :-) I had to look up "IDEK" to learn what it was an abbreviation for, thus proving once again that my geekdom is aging rapidly.

Sadly, I do that myself sometimes, but use IDEK anyway. It's just one of those that amuse me.
