Fridge logic

The subject line is a phrase I've seen used mostly by TV writers, referring to the kind of storytelling shortcut they're sometimes forced to make, where a plot point might not stand up to scrutiny. The viewer won't think about it at the time, but might go "Hey, what about...?" later on, when they're at the fridge looking for a snack.

The thought that struck me last night while vid-tinkering isn't quite in that category, because it's less "it doesn't make sense for these characters to have done that" and more "what would they have done if...?"

To wit, as far as George and Annie knew -- based on Josie's information -- Mitchell was still drinking the Vampire Utopia koolaid when they ran off to his rescue. It just so happened he discovered the "larder" when he did, and was thus defying Herrick and in imminent need of actual rescue when the cavalry arrived.

Up to that point, there were glimmers of doubt that he promptly shoved down. He hadn't listened to Josie. For pity's sake, Lauren had said as much as she dared, hoping he'd wake up and smell the bloodbath. The denial is strong with this one.

So... What exactly were George and Annie planning to say to him?

Not that I think they had a plan beyond, y'know, "must get him out of there." But what would they have said/done?
