Browncoat audio nirvana!

At Office of Doom, I tend to listen to my Zen about half the time and Live365.com the other half. The latter gives you suggestions for stations on the home page that are favored by others who like your presets.

It's safe to say today's suggestion of a station called Can't Take the Sky caught my eye. They've done a good job; it has soundtrack cuts, comparable folk and world-fusion, and a generous smattering of filk. Thus far I've heard cadhla and the Bedlam Bards I recognize, as well as several other filkers I don't (being not really a filk person, but fannish and musical and therefore picking stuff up peripherally).

There are definitely worse soundtracks for a morning's work. :-)

Edit: Make that a VERY generous smattering. And filkertom just turned up.

I ♥ filks.

(You know, good ones.)

;-)

This is the last frontier of mass-available fannish creativity, you know? Writing first, then still art, then vidding, we got online and into each other's lives outside of cons. Music is the last, and I'm looking forward to a renaissance.

There seems to be quite a lot happening with it online. filkertom frequently posts links to the "Funny Music Project," to which he and Luke Ski, among other prominent filkers, are contributors. And while I haven't sought it out myself, I'm sure there must be online outlets for non-comedy filk too.
