Translation: Two weeks in a row, we've watched True Blood before In Plain Sight. Though I think the latter is still my actual favorite current show. I suspect the TB cliffhangers are a factor. I found them annoyingly gimmicky at the start, but I've gotten used to them as part of the slightly overheated verging-on-camp tone of the show.

This week, they managed to shock the hell out of me by not killing Hoyt. Which is of the good in the sense that Jessica and Hoyt utterly buried the needle on the Cute-O-Meter, if headscratchy in the sense of just how Jessica managed to not kill him, let alone not even bite him. There certainly seems to be more to her every time we turn around; Deborah Ann Woll must be in novice-TV-actor heaven.

After a brief period of "Whaaaaa...?" I have decided to handwave that Sookie bought the poor kid a curling iron. There was also some brief confusion about the logistics of the cars (I'm sure I should notice which one is Sookie's and which one is Bill's, but we're talking about me and cars here), which was solved by the key realization that Bill's shopping trip, Jessica's family, and Fangtasia are logically all in Shreveport.

The "WTF is Mary Ann??" evidence seems to be mounting more in favor of maenad than Circe at this point. But the pig thing still has the latter in the running.
