A toast! A toast! A toast!

I love the depth and breadth of modern crafting materials possibly more than is altogether healthy. In this case, clear polyester casting resin.

Which, in combination with a squirt or so of yellow dye and some plastic champagne flutes, means we now have some mighty fine-looking spillproof props for Fledermaus.

Yes, this is how I spent a fair chunk of our one night off rehearsal this week. But dude, SO COOL. And surprisingly easy to work with. :: fangirls Hobby Lobby liek woah ::

I've been looking for an excuse to try that stuff for years. I originally thought of it in this case because we were looking to weight the glasses, since they're so light, and what weight they have is all at the top, so the poor guy playing the waiter couldn't keep them on the tray to save his life.

Someone else suggested magnets, and we ended up doing both. The end result is making me all kinds of happy.

Don't suppose you're gonna be in the L.A. area any time within the next few... months, maybe? I think I have a year, technically, but the sooner I can sort things out the better. And you're a theatre nerd (to quote the Whedon boys) so that would help.

Eep?

Barring the unlikely event that I land a gig out there, 'fraid not. If long-distance advice will help, of course, you're always welcome to it.
