Numfar, do the Dance of Sorrow

Andy Hallett has died of heart failure. I had no idea, but according to the report, he'd been dealing with heart trouble for several years. I also figured he was a little younger than I, but not that much! Wow.

He hosted a "Caritas" karaoke party at a couple of MidOhioCons. The DJ the first year didn't have any of the small handful of pop or rock numbers that I can pull off, so I said what the heck and did "I Dreamed a Dream," damn the inappropriate and full belt ahead. Andy gave me a huge hug when I finished, and to my shock I realized I'd made him cry. That's always been a treasured con moment; it's all the more so now.

Goodbye, sweet guy. You will be missed.

I had no idea he had heart problems either. So sad. :-(

He was really sweet to me at DragonCon too - I gushed about Lorne and he said "Oh! I love you!" It was really cute. :-(

That enthusiasm was such a joy. It made me wonder last night if he had some idea (before five years ago) that his time would be limited, and if that's part of why he didn't hesitate to go after his dreams.

MOC isn't that big, and the media track is particularly cozy (it's mostly a comics con). He was one of the people who just hung out with the fans even when he wasn't in a scheduled event, and seemed to be having a ball.

He's Abby's age, I see. I had no idea he was younger than me, even by that little bit.

Thank you for the sad news, and the marvelous memory.

I'm leaving work now; I think I'll put "I Dreamed a Dream" on the stereo when I get home.

I always felt odd associating such a tragic song with him. I'm not sure if it's more or less weird now.

Oh god...I loved him. He was probably my favorite person involved in anything Jossverse. He always seemed so sweet, so sincere, and seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. Wow he was so so young and so talented.

This hurts.

He was a good friend of a friend of mine out in LA, and I knew he had heart trouble, but I never dreamed he'd die so young. My heart's just breaking for his friends and family right now. No-one expects to lseo someone in theri early 30s.

I can't believe how young he was. I thought he was older. He was very talented. So sad.

Me too. I should be past the point where I'm surprised by impressive people being younger than I, but every once in a while one still gets me.

So sad.

He was younger than me.....way too young in any event. **sniffles**

Although reading the obit, I find out that there's an 'Angel' soundtrack, I'd no idea there *was* one! Must get.

Though listening to it will probably make me cry. **sniffles**

Bye bye, baby. Will miss you.

I vaguely knew there was a soundtrack, but hadn't gotten around to doing anything about it.

And if it makes me cry, well, he's getting his own back. ;-}
