Don't ask me, I just think here

Several times recently, I've woken up with a grammatically sensible but otherwise surreal phrase or sentence in my head. I keep thinking I should keep something by my bed to write them down, but thus far haven't gotten around to doing so. This morning, I actually retained it after I was fully awake.

"Bromance is no longer just teeny little nods and flappy hands."

I have no earthly clue.

Also in the Val's Brain Is Weird But We Knew That category, I keep getting the characters from the original urban fantasy universe I came up with in college (as in, before the term "urban fantasy" was coined and it was just this nameless thing a small handful of authors were starting to get out there) wandering through the back of my head and explaining all about how they could be made less Mary-Suerrific and bone-deep creatures of the 80s.

Which would be awesome IF I WANTED TO PUT IN THE TIME AND WORK TO DO THAT. However, my time and work are otherwise spoken for in the near term (as in, I'm not even auditioning for any theatre until I get my representation and website ducks in a row), so, gee, brain, thanks a LOT. *headdesk*

(As of this morning, I'm blaming Estelle, because I have the sneaking suspicion that universe is where she actually belongs.)

I wondered if bromance was a typo until I looked it up. It's an ... interesting word. Urban Dictionary is a scary website!

My brain does that, though. As soon as there is no possible way for me to work on writing, it's like "Oh, hey, wouldn't it be cool if...?"

I've been hearing "bromance" every time I turn around recently, which at least explains that portion of the nonsense. However, Urban Dictionary is always entertaining!

I find that words I learn the meaning of appear around me a lot. I hadn't heard bromance before, and I'm kind of surprised that it hasn't come up on Psych. Or maybe it did and I just haven't noticed because I didn't realize it was a word as opposed to me mishearing things. (Which happens a lot!)

Random sentences, or old ideas popping back up? Or both?

Oh, sorry. Random nonsensical yet grammatical sentences coming to me in my sleep/near-sleep.

I am not at all surprised that, however surreal, the sentences that suddenly pop into your head are grammatically sensible.

I'd never heard of "bromance" before, and I guessed wrong about what it meant. (I'd guessed it meant mushy, er, romantic stuff between two gay men.)
