Ready for my closeup

[Sooper Sekrit Messij to flist types: Please read this post first.]

Guess who bagged an actual speaking part in an actual feature that actual people might eventually actually see? With SAG contracts and names in the leads and everything? :: happy dance ::

Middle of next month, yours truly will be off to the wilds of small-town southwestern Michigan to shoot for two days on Cyrus, as a bitchy gossipy piece of work named Tanny. More details will be forthcoming as (a) I know them, and (b) I confirm what and when I'm allowed to blab.

In the meantime, yayz! I can haz paycheck and credit and hotel room and all that jazz!

This news kinda eclipses an awesome opening weekend for Dracula, which is unfair because it was an awesome opening weekend, with lots of butts in seats who seemed to have a good time. And we had a blast and a certain bothersome special effect even worked right yesterday, and this continues to be just the most fun group of people to work with. Hey, let's do it for two more weekends! ;-D

YAAAYY!!!!!! Congratulations on landing the awesome role! And also congrats on the good Dracula weekend, which you know I can't come see for reasons of being easily freaked, but I am thrilled for you anyway! :) < hugs > YAY!!!

And wow, I'm stupid. Quickly deleted stupid bit, rest of enthusiasm remains.

And one of these days I'll have a Show What Perri Could Get To that doesn't get blood on the ceiling. (And this one is freaking people who aren't that easily freaked, so You Are Wise.)

Brava!! Hurray! Yippeee! and assorted other delighted sounds.

You so deserve a break career-wise. The only down side is that it isn't a 6-month contract, so you could justify quitting the Office of Doom job.

Does this mean you'll have a SAG card by the end of filming?

And HURRAH! for a good opening night.

Your keyboard to somebody's ears! And hey, baby steps. That kind of stable gig happens more in TV than film, but Chi is starting to get more of that too, so who knows?

No SAG card, and I honestly wouldn't want one at this point, because I wouldn't be able to take non-union gigs, and most of what's available in this market is still in that category. Especially industrials and commercials. They have a very different rules setup from Equity; you can have a certain number (it varies according to the type of contract the project has with the Guild) of non-union actors on a shoot.

Woohoo! I'm just sorry it isn't in southeastern Michigan, except you'd probably be too busy for a get-together anyway.

Most likely. Long days are the default, regardless of the size of a project. :-)
