If this show turns out half as awesome as what the director has in mind? We are gonna knock some serious socks off.

And from what I've seen/heard about their previous shows, and how solid the production staff seems to be, it's gonna be that awesome. I've been in my share of shows where the vision was fabulous but just couldn't be realized because the tech and admin support weren't there. All indications thus far are that these folks do not have that problem. Hallelujah.

Costume designer to Vixens at last night's rehearsal: "You guys are sex." *cackle* Doesn't get much more succinct than that...

You are going to love it for all the same reasons I am. I am so ridiculously jazzed.

Yay! (I often wish I lived in Chicago, and this is definitely one of those times!)

IIRC, you have other crash space if you can get here, but ours is available too if/when you can make it down. Didn't get to gabble at you nearly enough at Polaris!

Love the icon -- great moment to capture. (You know that was Tanya who stopped to comment on your Inara dress when I was drooling over it outside the hotel cafe, right?)

Aaawww! Thanks for the offer. I'm in Calgary now (PhD - just starting and I have no idea what my schedule is going to be like, but once summer roles around if I"m not in the field I'll keep my eyes out for seat sales), which means it's a bit more of a trip to get there, but I definitely want to make it back to Chicago soon (I'm all sad over the fact that it's the Physical Anthro conference that's being held there this year. Conferences are a super excuse as well... Archaeo should wind up having one there one of these days too, I would think.) I really hope when I do make it down it times so I get to see you in something as well.

I know, Polaris was way too short. We may have to take the gabbling to the internet, for now.

I made a ton of Blood Ties icons of the first few episodes (the way the show is shot is sooo gorgeous, and Christina makes the best faces - I don't think I ever finished making icons of all of the screen caps I took to do so, they are in a folder somewhere...) but I never posted them anywhere. This one survived my going back to unpaid icon numbers, it's one of my favourites. I love Vicki and Mike so much.

Though it's so interesting how when I first read the books in high school I was ALL about Henry. And kind of hated the way things ended up, and had very little love of Celluci. Now, since the show, I totally love Mike and the complicated nature of all three relationships in the triangle. I did a reread the books and came away much happier. Seems like I've grown up a bit;)

I did realize it was Tanya (name tags are a good thing) but I didn't know if I should fangirl all over her, or if that would be off putting to her, so I turned kind of shy. I kept thinking I should say something, but instead we discussed traffic, which was sureal and awesome.

I've pretty much always been all about Vicki. ;-) I do think the complicated turns out about as well as possible, though.

It took me a couple cons to learn that it takes a LOT to put Tanya off. At this point I just go ahead and babble. She might think I'm insane, but that doesn't appear to necessarily be a negative.

I know all about Life, The Busy, and Everything. :-P Someday we'll get you back here...

*snicker* May have to recycle the backstage quote from HA: "I'm too old to be Buffy. And not horny enough to be Anita Blake."

Thanks!
