GUESS THE SONG
Step 1. Put your playlist on random.
Step 2. Post the first line from the first 25 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing. (You can skip songs that are instrumental.
[I also skipped a couple that were in languages I don't know.])
Step 3. Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

1. Hurry through the night "Candle in the Window" - Linda Eder (isabeau)

2. I am fragile in the morning "Fields of Summer" - Nanci Griffith (deire)

3. Listen to me, I have beautiful dreams I can spin you "Storybook" - The Scarlet Pimpernel (deire, isabeau)

10. Well, it seems with you there is something new

11. Smile, though your heart is aching "Smile" - standard (this happened to be Linda Eder) (phantomminuet)

12. O viridissima virga "O Viridissima Virga" - Hildegard von Bingen (the track doesn't actually show the singer's name on the version I have, I'd have to look at the liner notes) (phantomminuet

13. Galileo's head was on the block "Galileo" - Indigo Girls (thanatos_kalos, deire)

14. Born with no soul, lack of control

15. Malheureux, tu ne comprends donc pas

20. Oh, I got a mule and her name is Sal "Erie Canal" - Traditional (performed by some Welsh men's choir) (deire, isabeau)

21. The father giveth and the father taketh away

22. There's no time for us, there's no place for us "Who Wants To Live Forever" - Queen (covered by Sarah Brightman) (deire)

Both correct! (7 was actually the Kate Bush cover, but obviously there's no way to tell that...)

11. I believe the song is actually called "Smile". The version I know best is sung by the Holly Cole Trio. :-)

12. An ave by Hildegard von Bingen (and I probably didn't spell her name right)

Close enough. The title is listed as "Fiddle About," at least in the Broadway version.
