Since it did SO MUCH GOOD. Okay, yes, I should have reapplied at least twice. If I ever do anything like this again, I need to get the spray kind, so I can reapply without having to redo my body paint.

I got slightly lobstered today. By Tuesday, I expect it will have turned to tan.

With white scrollwork.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am returning to the mortal world with the weirdest tan lines EVER. *facepalm*

Very amused that the bottle of bubbles I happened across in the kitchen cabinet yesterday morning ended up being my most reliable shtick of the weekend. OTOH, plunking oneself down in the mud is less compatible with shimmery faerie attire than with peasant garb.

Key to success in any interactive improv situation: Play ditzy characters. It makes life soooooo much easier when you hit that point in the day -- and there is always that point in the day -- when the brain says "Okay, done now."

One of the vendors to me, as I was packing up my car: "This is the part where you tell us you have a doctorate, right?" *chuckle*

Don't waste the money on spray on sunscreen. It doesn't work. We took my nephew to a baseball game and I kept spritzing myself with a can of SPF 45 and ended up with a 2nd degree sunburn that I still have the scars from. *sigh*

That sounds like it'd even beat when the guys from faire shave their beards off at the end of the run...

Nah, probably not as noticeable as that. :-) It's already turned to tan on my arms this morning, and the lines aren't showing up nearly as much as when it was red.

My shoulders and chest are still red, though, and the lines are still quite clear there...

returning to the mortal world
It sounds like you brought a lot of fun and laughter this weekend. :-) Good deeds!

I hope the weird tan lines are the worst of the sunburn for you, and it doesn't turn into a peel-and-blister situation!

Re: returning to the mortal world
Thankfully, it's a pretty light burn. My shoulders will probably peel a little, but it's not as bad as the one from the cruise in February. I'm annoyed with myself for getting burned twice in one year, though. I'm usually better about it than that!

I've only ever blistered from a sunburn once. Hopefully I'll continue to successfully avoid repeating that experience!

Not yet, but I got a business card from a guy who goes around taking pictures at various faires. The folks running this one also took some, so I expect they'll show up on their website once they recover! :-)
