Subject line = caption on the Happy Bunny mousepad that pounced on me at Target the other night. Is now on my desk at Office of Doom, making me smile. (Possibly it should worry me that the captions on most Happy Bunny items me smile. But I don't think about that much.)

Since I was at Target for the purpose of obtaining bits and bobs and little props for Xocko, the deliberately tacky sock-puppet I'm performing in The Stand-In, that actually wasn't the oddest thing I purchased. (Although the screamingly pink Hello Kitty water bottle wasn't exactly a necessity either. Those dollar bins are dangerous, yes they are...)

Xocko is quite stylin' at this point. *nodnodnodnod* I will be posting his headshots for your amusement once I have taken them. (Seriously. One of his props is his resume.) This is the shorter of the two one-acts making up this bill, and definitely The Funny One. Chicago folks, you should all come see. (Yes, there will be a proper Shameless Plug Post closer to opening.)

Decided that, what with the being booked through early November, I would opt out of Corn Productions' season auditions tonight. Booked the slot back when I didn't think I would score from two auditions in one week. %-} So instead, I will have an amilyn and an iingaartist hanging out at my house eating pizza, watching Blood Ties, and reminding myself what means this phrase "night off."

It's so cool to have friends nearby enough to come hang out. Wish we did. Need to invent a transporter :)

transporters!
>"Ah, the eternal fannish cry..."

Do non-fans not want it as much as we do, or do they just not know to wish for its invention? :-) I imagine that the real estate industry will go into convulsions if the day comes that people can live anywhere and work anywhere ... and then many redundant roads can be dispensed with, and better things done with the land ... no more long-distance relationships ... I wonder what will happen with tourism, and refugees, and crime, and war ... :-)

But mostly, getting together with good friends for an afternoon or evening, without having to take vacation time and drain the bank account. Wishes and horses ...

A little of both, I think.

I was about to say they're less likely to have such a high percentage of their close friends scattered all across the map, but I don't know if that's true anymore. It certainly was when fandom was one of a small handful of special interests that brought people together online, and before that through letterzines and travel to cons and such.

I was reading merrily along until I saw 'Hello Kitty'. And then I squee'd loudly. I bet it's adorable!

Lethally. :-D If there's a Target near you, you should totally check the dollar bins. They'll be near one of the doors.

heheheh - they have/had bunny notebooks at wally world a couple weeks back. I was tempted to pick a bunch off to mail off as x-mas presents because the sayings were so very plot bunny related. :)

Have not gone looking for them since, because I've had my mind on other things, but I should as soon as I get some cash in hand here.

Hee! I almost bought the "I'm not listening" t-shirt I spotted at Goodwill a few weeks back for exactly that reason. But I decided one hot pink HB shirt (with the graphic in my icon) would be enough...

Was there a follow-up post on this that I missed?
