Goodbye, Bubbles

Still say my heroes aren't supposed to get old and leave us. *snif* And a woman who never smoked shouldn't get hit with lung cancer twice in a lifetime of turning breath into magic. There really are no guarantees.

This morning's NPR story is a nice overview, and whoever produced it made my day by finishing the piece with my favorite aria recording of hers. :: points at current music :: The text on the linked page is pretty much what they read, but the audio isn't up yet. If they haven't changed the way they do their website, it should be on the same page later.

I should find a way to play the movie bit from when she was 7 for our little "Twinkle Star" winner from the voice competition. It sounds a lot like her. :-)

*nods* I just don't know what kind of access Erica has. I need to find out.

Thanks, though.

The cause of her death is a cruel irony, I think. It's not fair at all. Thank God she made a lot of recordings - that's form of immortality.

I read the obit in USA Today, which was surprisingly a very nice one (as far as these sort of things can be "nice").

We'll miss ya Bubbles.

*sigh*
