It's not good to be this antsy about a resume I just sent in Wednesday, for a posting that just went up Monday. I don't usually think all that much about how vastly much more at home I felt in arts admin than in any other day job I've ever had let alone the collection industry. But any time I apply for one, I think about it a LOT. Work has been uncharacteristically crisis-free this week, which has just ended up leaving me more brainspace for thinking about how much I'd rather my effort were going into something I gave a rodent's posterior about. (I'm totally on board with the principle that our clients have a right to be paid for goods and/or services provided, but there's a seemingly unbridgeable gap between that and actually caring.) I left BalletMet a decade ago, and still insanely miss being able to take a breather from some uncooperative spreadsheet and go downstairs, watch a few minutes of rehearsal, and think "This is what it's for."

On a less neurotic note, my casual Friday is featuring the preternaturally cute SoundGirl top I got at TJ Maxx a few weeks back, which gives me a happy every time I go to the restroom and see it in the mirror. This has prompted me to finally look at the website (they had the URL in GREAT BIG LETTERS on the hangtag), and think maybe I should check out some of the free music when I get home. I mean, hey, free music. Not as absurdly fond of any of the clothes shown in their current collections, although they're still cute. But they're likely to run me more than the $6 I paid for this top, which is no doubt part of its giddy appeal. :-) Someday, no doubt soon, this long-top trend will pass, and then I will be a very sad tall chick. But I'm rocking it while I can.

My casual Friday is also just plain Friday. Which is always Of The Good.

And I will then be a very pleased short chick. But I'm glad someone's enjoying the trends I can't!

There's not exactly a shortage of long tops around atm either. Mostly I'm enjoying not flashing my thirtysomething belly pooch at the world...

Or, erm, short ones. I think I need more caffeine...

FWIW, I just sent a note to James & Evan (the Individual giving manager) asking them to consider you, and Evan just emailed me back with a thanks for the recommendation, so.... I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks. {{{ hugs }}} If it doesn't happen, it certainly won't be for lack of good wishes!
