Rocky Mountain High: The Visuals

Yay! Dad got around to uploading snow pictures.

Their upstairs deck (which is outside the french doors with the hummingbird suncatcher) is now cleared. Mom was going to put the hummingbird feeders back out today, but couldn't remember where she put them away for the winter. Which turned out to be a good thing, because she looked out this afternoon and thought "Wow, that's a big dog... That's a bear." Little bear, only about three feet tall, but still, bear. On their deck. With its nose against the glass. Rascal, who steadfastly refuses to believe that he is a 13-year-old, ten-pound dog, was luckily inside, and quite miffed that Mom wouldn't let him through the doggie door and out into his run until the bear was Gone. It didn't climb the tree to go after the squirrel feeders like the last one, so hopefully it will decide that there's nothing edible around their place and continue to look somewhere that's else.

Another good thing about the snow: It'll mean lots of berries and things for the bears to eat, and hopefully break the habit they've gotten into during the drought of looking for food where people are.
