A view from the top

Okay, not quite the top -- the semis are still taller...

Swapped vehicles with BigBabyBrother so I can take his truck to Columbus this weekend and bring back an OMGREALBEDYAY!!!

I had forgotten just how different the road looks when you're sitting about four feet higher. In light of last year's little incident with the Xterra in my trunk, I'm taking particular gleee in seeing over most SUVs. *eg*

Don't you get worried about running over the poor hapless people who when they bought a car, actually bought a car? Having driven a truck in Chicago, that was a constant worry for me...

Luckily, I don't have to drive it in the city. The sum total of my non-freeway (and all outlying freeway) driving will have been to my apartment (which has ample off-street parking) last night, coming to work this morning, and once each to and from the house in Columbus.

Scariest couple hours of my life? Tour van (Ford Club Wagon) and trailer (14') on the outbound Long Island Expressway at rush hour. :: shudders at memory ::

BBB lives in a rented farmhouse in WI and works in the nearby smallish town, so he's off the hook from my usual grumbling about people driving behemoths in the 'burbs. Especially since he's 6'6". *g* Driving my Cavalier for a weekend is going to give him leg cramps on his leg cramps, I fear...

I think I'll be ready to abdicate soon enough. But it is amusing for the moment. :-D

It's probably a good thing that your BBB doesn't read your LJ. It would put fear in his heart for his beloved truck. Mom

*chuckle* He didn't need to be in fear. Just meant I could see something other than the back of the vehicle in front of me.
