And just as I type that subject line, I'm seeing both. From a Russian team, predictably enough. Though the lady is Japanese. Interesting.

I haven't been paying much attention to skating the last couple years, so I don't know who a lot of these people are. And I'm confuzzled, because I've been sitting here watching an awful lot of bent free legs. Which look like they're choreographed that way and all, at least most of the time, but still. It's weird.

And more weirdly, it seems like everybody is just creeping, in spins and traveling choreography alike, and yet they keep looking like they're running out of ice. Surely they're not having Worlds on a smaller-than-usual rink or something? And yet it does almost look like it. And if it's not... Running out of speed in the short? Pair after pair after pair?

I am confused.

1) Pow! Tanith Belbin crush back full force. *gorpy grin* OMGcutehaircut!

2) Lionel Luthor is listening to the slowest damn "Der Hölle Rache" I have ever heard in my life. I think maybe they actually slowed it down to lower the pitch. In which case, possibly they should have picked something else? I'm totally picturing Pamina going "Yeah, sure, Mom, whatever." Because, um, so not scary this way.

(Yes, I'm watching Smallville for the first time in at least three years, on account of Gina guest starring. I seem to be at the mercy of my girlcrushes this evening. *g* Oh, hey, Gina gets to look like a grownup. Yay!)

I have decided this is my new motto. I think I need it on a T-shirt.
