Fish and Wildlife enforcement Sgt. Bill Heinck said the bear did try one can of Busch, but ignored the rest. The beast then consumed about 36 cans of Rainier.

*snerk* That bear might be a long-lost member of my family - particularly the male side, lol!

What's stranger... that it happened or that the bear had a preference?!

LOL! Thanks for sharing! :D

BwahahaHAHA!
Bear! Beer! Beer as bear-bait!
*chortle giggle snort*

There's an extra amusement factor for me there, Pacific Northwest native that I am.

Rainier is TERRIBLE beer. When we used to sing "The Old Dunn Cow" at SCA Bardics, we'd always substitute it in the line "when we've got so much small beer". :)

Rainier is TERRIBLE beer.

So I'm given to understand. (I wouldn't know. It all tastes pretty equally like 12-year-old bread to me.)

I guess it has a use after all...

I also don't like beer, but all my Seattle-area beer drinking friends, without exception, loathed that particular brand.

It does make excellent slug-bait, though. Pour it into a disposable pie tin sunk so its rim is level with the ground, and the slugs will crawl in and drown happy. Then when it's full of slugs, you throw it away and put down a new tin.
